One of our installers moved a customer's antique chest and then put a stack of blankets on it. His partner came by and stacked the TV on top of the blankets, crushing the top of the chest. The lady was distraught; this had been her grandmother's chest. I asked Ilya to see if there was anything he could do, even though I was not hopeful. Well, to make a long story short, she was ecstatic. She actually thanked me for the way we handled it (by sending someone like Ilya out to rectify our mistake) and, I think, she ended up with a more favorable opinion of us that if this situation hadn't come up in the first place.

This work was performed back in 2012 but the review and my remarks still hold true: I had an antique baby bassinet that has been in my family for generations. It's been passed around between family and friends and had seen some better days and needed some repair before it could be hopefully be one day used again for my own children. I contacted many antique refinishers to give me a quote but no one would even touch it because it was an antique, and would be around children. Phoenix Art Woodworks gave me a quote, and it was very reasonable. They repaired it, repainted it, and it looks amazing. I know it will be around for more generations to come. We will be using them again in the future for more projects!

Ilya came to our house in Buffalo Grove to pick up and deliver our 5 vintage dining chairs, all from early 1900s. He did beautiful re-caning of the seat of one and stripped, stained and restored the other 4. They look gorgeous! Excellent job and wonderful service - a joy to work with. Thank you so much, Ilya!

We have a Roche Bobois couch that is really cool and in great shape. But at our ages it has become way too low to the ground for us. We were determined to chuck it and get a new couch. Then we decided to see if someone could custom build some longer legs for the couch. We got several outrageous estimates and then a very reasonable one from A Phoenix. They produced the new legs in a week and custom painted them to match the couch perfectly. The workmanship was excellent and we will definitely be seeing them again!

We recently decided to have our cabinets refinished and Phoenix Art did an amazing job! We love our "new" kitchen! The color is what we were looking for as well. Solid work and a fair price!

I inherited a cedar chest made 150 years ago by my gr. great grandfather. After many moves, it was very banged up and had a large crack on the top. The owner, Ilya, assured me he could refinish it and repair the damage. Let me tell you, he did an absolutely WONDERFUL job restoring this chest, which is really a piece of my family history. He even cleaned up the water damage on the inside of the chest, and installed a strap to hold the chest top open safely. The price was reasonable for the work performed. I would definitely recommend their expertise to anyone needing wood furniture repair and restoration.
