They refinished the top of my dining room table. It's rattan so it has many crevices. My table is 33 years old and I love it. It came back looking brand-new! Exactly the same finish as the legs and the chairs. It was tricky to do. First it needed to be painted. Then a dye wiped on and off the painted surface to give it a white washed look. I can't believe they were able to EXACTLY duplicate the original finish. The owner himself came to pick up my table and leaf, and delivered it when done. He is such a pleasant, jovial man. And he really knows his stuff. I can't say enough about his quality work. He's an artist!
Phoenix Art Woodworks restored a rocking chair that has been with the family through three babies. It was originally painted white. My wife and I moved into a new home. Everything in the home is stained dark brown. All the bedroom furniture is also dark brown. I took a picture of the rocking chair and the furniture and asked if it could be matched. I also had a small cabinet that my wife wanted to display in the bedroom. Both pieces were matched exactly and I could not have been happier with the results. I highly recommend Ilya Uster's work at Phoenix Art Wood Works. Harry J Zaharis
I had a two piece dresser set from the 1940s that was damaged and discolored. It was originally my grandmothers and in pictures it was an antique white. Throughout the years the color had changed to a yellow gold and slightly damaged . Because of the craftsmanship I couldn't part with these dressers. I called Ilya and sent him pictures. He quoted me a price and they came to pick up the dressers. After waiting around six weeks the dressers were ready and delivered. I could have never been more pleased with the way they turned out. Ilya did an absolutely amazing job at refinishing the dressers and I highly recommend him for any restoration of furniture.
I had an old round unfinished/plain kitchen table (butcher block) and wanted to stain it myself as I've stained cabinets before with ok results for the person who does it once in their life or once every 10 years, i.e., I'm handy, but was recommended aphoenixartwoodworks.com for their quality and craftsmanship. Moreover the table was a bit unstable/rocky as it had 4 legs. There was no way I could have restored this table by myself and have achieved the same results; table has uniform color, texture, and deep color. Moreover, the owner proposed replacing legs with pedestal to make table stable, - it was a wise idea as the table is solid now. I would recommend this shop for anyone who is looking for quality results and good old craftsmanship.
